The Audi engineers started their latest fase in the development of the Audi A1. This week we got a first glimpse of the model, but this new spyphoto reveals much more.
The German website Auto Motor und Sport published these photos today. I looks like they have an exclusive scoop because it's the first time ever that we see a prototype like this one from the A1. In the last few months we only saw some mules based on the Volkswagen Polo.
Polo
The technical base from the A1 is based on that Polo. The engines are also the same as in the Volkswagen-brother. Audi will reveal the A1 as a 3-door model in the first quarter of 2010 and it will hit the dealers in the summer of 2010. The 5-door hatchback will follow later and Audi is also working on a S1 with about 150 hp.
